On deciding to carry a firearm! It’s a big responsibility and one that should be taken seriously. Once you’ve picked out your gun, the next step is to find the right holster. With so many options available, it can be overwhelming to know where to start.
What do you intend to carry?
People may carry guns for a variety of reasons, such as personal protection, hunting, or recreational shooting. The holster you choose to carry your gun in should be selected based on the purpose you plan to use it for. It's important to consider your personal needs when selecting a holster, as the wrong choice could impair your ability to access your gun quickly and safely.
Sarah is a BravoBelt user. Here’s the reason why wearing a belly band holster and carrying a gun is essential:
“One of the greatest advantages to have is to be underestimated. For example there are two types of vehicles here in San Antonio that are at a greater risk of getting broken into. One, is nicer vehicles because it’s assumed they’ll have more valuable items inside. The other is vehicles with police/fire/military stickers because thieves believe there is a greater likelihood of there being a firearm inside.
You’re possessions are far safer in a more unsuspecting, non-thieve-tempting vehicle. In the same way, how we walk, talk and dress does the same thing. The first defense against being a victim is maintaining situational awareness, and exuding an air of confidence and alertness. The second is not giving yourself away. While I believe there can be advantages to open carrying, it’s also an obvious give away. Other things like wearing military style/identifying clothing give people reason to believe that you pose a threat. Again, this can be beneficial in acting as a deterrent but in most situations it’s far more advantageous to look like a Joe-shmo who probably isn’t carrying a firearm and won’t defend yourself or others.
Case in point, there was recently a career criminal shot during the attempt of robbing patrons in a restaurant. He had his back turned to the man who shot him and obviously wasn’t anticipating that the customer had a firearm and was prepared to use it (cue the arguments in the comments about overkill and how the thief had some sort of fake gun). This gave the man the advantage, and the opportunity, to effectively use his weapon to stop the thief and return the stolen money.
My point here is simple, don’t give away the fact that you’re a threat. Don’t underestimate the power of being underestimated.”

Your safety is important
Carrying a gun for self-defense can be an important decision for many people. However, it is important to remember that having a gun comes with a great deal of responsibility. It is important to research and understand the local laws and regulations regarding carrying a weapon and gun safety rules. Additionally, it is important to ensure you have the right type of holster for your gun. A belly band holster is a great option as it can provide secure and comfortable firearm concealment while allowing you to access the gun quickly.
Best Holster Brands
Absolutely! It's important to remember that when selecting a holster, there is no one-size-fits-all solution. It's important to take into consideration your specific gun, the environment you'll be carrying it in, what type of clothing you'll be wearing, and your own personal comfort level.
A quality holster is always a great choice, as it will provide better performance for your gun. Specifically, holsters designed for your gun's exact make and model are often the best option as they are tailored to fit its frame. Additionally, some manufacturers make holsters with adjustable straps, clips, and tension screws so you can customize them to your needs.
