Top Holiday US Destinations for Gun Enthusiasts

It’s the holidays! There isn’t a better time to take a vacation. Everybody just wants to have fun and get away from stress, and yes, everyone deserves to! With each person having different hobbies and preferences, it can be hard to figure out where to go for your vacation.

As a gun enthusiast, you probably understand how a simple vacation on the beach is not enough. The good news? There’s a lot of awesome places we can visit within the United States on holiday! Here are seven of my top recommendations for you.

The NRA National Firearms Museum

For those gun nerds out there: if you are looking for a place where lots of firearms from different eras are on display, look no further than the NRA Museum. The NRA Museum in Fairfax, Virginia is currently home to over 2,500 types of firearms used throughout seven centuries. This covers everything from warfare guns to ones used in movies and different media, all historic in their own rights!

The exhibits show you how weapons develop into the weapons we know today. Gun nerds will surely appreciate the information overload within the four corners of the facility.

The Rock Island Arsenal Museum

Another firearms museum gun nerds can visit is Rock Island, Illinois’s Rock Island Arsenal. With 1,100 guns on display as of today, this museum serves as the second oldest museum of the U.S. Army to exist.

Take note, however, that the museum is in a state of decline. You might not get the chance to visit it in the future. Inviting friends and family to visit it can also boost interest in the museum for it not to close indefinitely!

Dragonmans

Hear us out: how about going to a museum, gun shop, gun range, AND paintball range, all in one place? This is Colorado Springs’s answer to all gun lovers out there who want to have fun. Named after Mel “Dragonman” Bernstein, Dragonmans puts not only weapons on display but even vehicles used since World War I. Not only that, you can also buy guns and other merch there, as well as enjoy some physical activity at the shooting and paintball ranges.

Yorktown

Want to visit the battlefield that changed America’s history forever? You can, with a visit from the venue of The Battle of Yorktown. Known in 1781 as the place where America gained its independence, visitors can now relive history with the field’s display of barricades and artilleries. Moore House is also situated here, where Great Britain’s surrender took place.

Gettysburg

Can’t get enough of firearm history? Another historical battlefield known in American history is the stage for one of the deadliest battles on American soil: the Battle of Gettysburg. Visitors can check out notable areas such as the Little Round Top and Seminary Ridge. Museums and antique shops are also in the area, if you happen to be interested in items from the past.

Machine Guns Vegas

If you have ever wondered what it feels like to operate a fully automatic machine gun, Las Vegas’ machine gun range has you covered. With Machine Guns Vegas’s shooting range specifically built for machine guns, everyone will enjoy the thrill of firing a fully automated gun in action.

Bullets and Burgers

While you are in Las Vegas, you might also want to drop by Bullets and Burgers. This place has an outdoor shooting range with a “Desert Storm” motif. It’s complete with military bunkers and powerful weapons such as fully automatic rifles, the Desert Eagle, and the like. Want to feel like the Terminator or John Rambo? At their shooting range, you will have access to weapons used on both The Terminator and Rambo II!

On top of that, you can chill out at the world-class restaurant within the premises, known for its World Famous All American Burger. Who knows that a shooting range and a burger diner could work perfectly hand in hand?

These locations are just a number of the many vacation spots you can go to as a gun enthusiast in the US alone. There are lots more if we include other places around the world, but we’ll save that for another time.
